Gotham Writer's Workshops
Some of the best writing classes on the web (Forbes said so, too) check out Gotham Writer's Workshops. They offer classes in all genres, poetry, nonfiction, and marketing from the most basic to the master class level.
One day intensives and in- person classes are offered in Manhattan, but the web based classes attract an international audience and are fantastic for those who do not live in the tri-state area or, like me, need to do assignments at 2 a.m.
Advanced Classes on Writing Craft/Sub-Genres
Writer U is one of the best places to learn advanced writing craft for fiction in general, and romance in particular. Personal favorites include Mary Buckam's Pacing and Sex Between the Pages, Sherry Lewis' Master Class for Scene and Sequel, and Margie Lawson's Deep Edits System.
Writers Online Classes also offers in depth classes on writing genre fiction, including erotica and urban fantasy. Check out Jeanne Stein for urban fantasy and Sunny Lynn Cole for erotica.
